135- Integration of DME and Transponder Mode-S functionalities into a 6 DOF Flight Simulator for Test Bench Environments

In this project, the student will improve the current functionalities of a flight simulator application used for testing in-lab avionics systems. The current application includes VOR/ILS/ELT, and separate applications are used to test DME and transponder systems, among others. The objective of this student is to integrate all the applications in a common interface to be incorporated X-Plane flight simulator. The student will program the integrated application using C++ language. The student will implement features such as real-time serial programming of avionics testing equipment such as IFR-6000 or IFR-4000. In addition, this internship will provide the student with the opportunity to develop avionics automatic tests and conceive live demonstrations. The student will also collaborate in the integration and enhancement of several avionics functions in demonstration concept. Moreover, the student will provide full integration of the flight simulator based test bench into a 6 degrees of freedom simulator.
